We are a community of 43 people with
disabilities, their families, their friends, 100 staff and lots of
community supporters—all of whom believe that people of all
disabilities can live in their own homes.
We accept that real life is messy.
We try to put people before paperwork.
We occasionally disagree about how to best
support each person we serve, but we keep talking.
We hold fast to our vision and work
everyday to achieve it.
We cannot pay staff what they’re worth.
We know that it’s the details that give
richness to a person’s life.
We are committed to staying small.
We are an organization that makes mistakes from time to time.
We laugh a lot and cry occasionally.
We know we are not all things to a person.
We are committed to responsible stewardship of our financial resources.
We think the people we support should hire their own companions.
We believe quality services require knowing people really well.
We believe that if a person fires Georgia Options, it is Georgia
Options that leaves the home.
We believe “home” takes many forms: a house, a duplex,
an apartment, a mobile home.
We believe that “home” is a human right of all people.
We stretch the limits of ourselves and the system that governs us.
We celebrate even the smallest success.
We sometimes have no idea how to handle a challenge.
We keep trying.
We know who we are.
We are Georgia Options!
